5.1 DIRECT RICE SEEDER

Features:

 

It is an attachment to the commercially available tractor mounted cultivator for direct sowing of paddy in dry land conditions. The direct seeder consists of seed box, seed metering disc, ground wheel, cultivator shovel, furrow closer, clutch lever, power drive system, and frame. The seed metering mechanism consists of discs fitted with cups mounted close to its periphery. During operation, discs rotate, the cup pick up rice seeds and drop in the furrow tubes.

5.2  MAT TYPE RICE TRANSPLANTER

Features:

 

It is a six-row rice transplanter using mat type seedlings.  The six row machine is a riding type and employs a double acting transplanting mechanism for enhanced transplanting speed and in turn high field capacity. The double acting transplanting mechanism is run with, one sun and four planetary gears and is powered by 5 hp engine. The machine has provision for adjustments of number of seedlings per hill, depth of transplanting and hill-to-hill distance. The depth of transplanting is maintained constant, automatically during transplanting. The row-to-row spacing is 300mm and five settings of hill to-hill distance from 120 to 220 mm can be obtained depending on desired plant population. The self propelled version of the machine is provided with six spare seedling racks for filling of trays Intermittently. The machine is powered with a 12 hp air cool petrol engine and it is provided with power steering. Depth of transplanting can be set from 15 to 45 mm.

5.3 TACTOR MOUNTED RIDGER SEEDER 

Features:

 

It is a tractor drawn implement which forms ridges and furrows and carries out sowing either on the ridge, on the side of the ridge or in the furrows as desired. It consists of seed hopper, fertilizer hopper, seed metering mechanism, fertilizer metering mechanism, drive system, drive wheels, hitch system, ridger bodies, furrow openers, transport wheel and sturdy frame made of mild steel sections. The ridger body consists of two mould boards and share mounted in the front. The wingspan of the ridger can be adjusted to vary width of furrow or ridge. Seed and fertilizer metering units receive power from ground wheel through chain and sprocket system. During operation, ridges having flat top are formed by the ridger bodies on which the seeds are sown.

5.4 RAISED BED PLANTER

Features:

 

The raised bed planter consists of a frame, planting hoppers, fertilizer box, furrow openers, bed former and power transmitting wheel. The frame is made of mild steel sections. The furrow openers are ridger type and have mould board and share point. The wingspan of the mould board can be adjusted to get ridges of different sizes. The share is made of medium carbon steel or alloy steel, hardened and tempered to suitable hardness. The machine makes two broad beds. Machine can sow two or three rows of wheat on each bed. Machine has seed metering unit of vertical disc type. The draft requirement of the machine is reduced due to roller type bed shaper.

5.5 POWER TILLER OPERATED AUGER DIGGER

 Features:

Power tiller operated auger digger consists of a small frame with the provision to lower and raise the soil-working element. Drive is provided to the unit with the help of a set of bevel gears and belt pulleys. Lowering and raising of the implement is accomplished by means of a rack and pinion arrangement which is operated by a hand wheel. It has two depth adjustment wheels, which support the weight of the implement, and provides stability. Pits can be dug up to a depth of 45 to 60 cm and the diameter of the post hole is 30 cm. For operation the auger is mounted on a power tiller and is lowered with the help of a steering. The auger is lifted when the desired depth of the hole is achieved.

 5.6 TRACTOR OPERATED POST-HOLE DIGGER

 

Features:

 

Posthole digger is an attachment to the three-point linkage of tractor. It consists of an auger, which is driven through bevel gears. The auger gets drive from the tractor PTO through a propeller shaft and bevel gear box. The perpendicularity of digging auger is maintained with four-bar linkage formed by hitching system. The tie rod provided at the top, The tip of the auger is either diamond shaped or pointed with wings to suit different soil conditions. The diameter and depth of hole can be changed by changing the auger assembly. Twin disc auger digger is also available for sowing sugarcane setts in circular manner. It is also available with two pairs of auger digger blades for making two pits simultaneously for planting sugarcane by ring method.

5.7   VEGETABLE TRANSPLANTER

 

 

Features:

The vegetable seedling transplanter consists of two modular planting units having three-point hitch, toolbar, clamps, furrow opener, covering wheel, operator's seat and transplanting finger assembly. It has provision for seating two operators who place the seedlings on the moving chain, which carries the seedlings to the planting mechanism. Two inclined wheels having a small flange at its outer periphery help in the placement of the seedlings and cover the soil. It is operated with a tractor of 35-40 hp and is suitable for transplanting of vegetable seedlings like tomato, chilly, cauliflower, cabbage, brinjal etc.
